So I think we can all agree that puffy eyes don’t look good. They make you look sick and tired, so you’re probably sick and tired of them!
HOW do you get rid of those dark balloons under your eyes??
Well, you may want to take a long, hard look at your diet! One of the reasons for puffy eyes is eating too much sodium, and not enough potassium. You probably already guessed why that is: because sodium makes you retain water, including under your eyes!
Whereas, if you have a higher potassium to sodium electrolyte ratio and they’re in BALANCE, then the potassium combats the effects of sodium. It’s important to your kidney function that your electrolyte balance is in check…and it’s important to your eyes too!
You’d be surprised…although hopefully not too surprised 😉…to learn how far a healthy, varied diet goes into giving you lustrous skin. And preventing aging!
Obviously the standard American diet is far more likely to get you way too much sodium and not enough potassium!
Did you know that SUGAR has been known to accelerate the aging process too?? Eek!
But let’s say you’re TRYING to fix your diet, and those puffy eyes still don’t go away!! What else can you do?
Well, there are short-term solutions like putting something cold on your eyes (tea bags, cucumbers!).
Also, gently (very, very gently!), massaging your undereyes can get blood flow there and reduce the puff.
But if you really want it gone in the long-term, what’s way better than massaging with your finger is massaging with the way finer, more gentle oscillating motion of the Lumispa Accent!
Now, as you may recall, I’ve already blogged about the Lumispa, and how you can think of it like “a facial cleansing brush that’s not actually a facial cleansing brush at all”!
It doesn’t have scratchy brush bristles. It DOES contains anti-microbial silver. So it’s going to protect your skin, instead of irritate it!!
In that blog, I mentioned the cleanser you use with the Lumispa — the cleanser contains ingredients that prevent moisture from leaving your skin. Unlike other products that claim to moisturize your skin, but actually pull moisture from the deeper layers of the skin to do so!
But NOW, I’m talking about the Lumispa Accent, which is an attachment head for the Lumispa. You use the attachment under your eyes.
And this finer tipped head has its OWN specially formulated cream to go with it!
Why do you need a special attachment and cream for your eye area?
I think you already know the answer to this one…because the skin around your eyes is more delicate!
Back to the topic at hand: your under-eye skin is also puffier and darker. This is where IdealEyes Activating Eye Cream comes in! It has collagen peptides, which lift and firm the area around your eyes. But there’s also plankton extract, which gets rid of the pigment making your eyes dark. Also, there’s squalene, which may be able to reduce those puffy eyes by helping your under-eye area retain the level of moisture it’s SUPPOSED to!
To get rid of puffy eyes, I would recommend a combination of:
- A healthy diet!
- A good night’s sleep!
- AND the gently oscillating power of the Lumispa Accent with the restorative cream that comes with it!
